Hello blog visitors, i am quite sure that most of us relished in the gifts we got yesterday, Boxing day, even though the name gives the impression of the sport boxing to those unaware of its significance, its simply about opening the gifts that we received at Christmas day.
I rarely receive gifts at Christmas, let alone open them on Boxing day and i can say its the same for most of us here at this end. It is not because we don't understand the importance of this season even as Christians, except you are a child that should be gifted a present, we the adults only tend to gift huge presents to those who can return the favor.
Forget about the lies paraded on social media, most of the gifts shared and received were mostly between those people who were simply looking for greater favor in the coming year. Simply put, we at this end are yet to understand the true essence of this season. Genuine generosity to those who may never return the favor is what the season is all about. The Nativity story of Our Lord Jesus Christ encapsulates all that, God by sending his only son from his heavenly throne down to earth to sacrifice his life to redeem our souls is the greatest gift mankind can never repay.
We must always remember that true giving is the sacrifice we must do to earn God's blessings. It will cost you nothing to gift out your used clothes and items and even food to those that are lacking, sometimes it doesn't even require all that it could be sharing a very useful idea with someone or even a friend that is struggling to stand on his or her feet that will add meaning to their life.
Be a blessing to others and those around you, Always remember 'We Rise By Lifting Others'.
